I caught gonorrhea in Patts and I thought had that cleared up easily with some meds. A few days after I flew home, the puss started flowing again from the trouser snake so I went to the GUM (Genito Urinary Medicine / Sexual Health) clinic in the UK. They took blood, piss, swab up the knob, etc. and was told to come back after 3 months for an HIV test. Thankfully got the all clear.
I was also tested before laser eye surgery 15 months later in BKK/Patts hospital. Again, OK. 2 times so far. There must be a variety of opinions about the need to prevent yourself from having to even get yourself in that situation in the first place. Are the results of one of those street clinic testing stations in Patts reliable for 1500B a time for you and your LT ? Are you too shit scared to even find out ? Do you give a fuck ? Have you got it already and take/not take precautions ? I for one have disregarded the medical advice available everywhere when in certain situations. Just wondered what other BM's perspective was on this. |

I take my health very seriously and wanted peace of mind as I got into a relationship soon afterwards. Slightly off the main topic, how much did your laser eye surgery cost down there? I've been thinking about doing that myself. And what's the eye care standard like in BKK? Cheers! J2 |

Got the Jack from a blown tyre in Phuket so why give a fuck.
Had 2 tests for the big A. One in Oz before I came out and that was scary enough. The second was just before an op for a belly button Hernia. Both times OK. Am 50 this year and sorry guys I don't give a fuck. But I do stick to a few ring up regulars to (hopefully keep the odds down) |

I too was cured of "stupidity" (not using a condom in Thailand) when I was waiting for the result of a HIV test. Fortunately it turned out to be negative. For me the worst part of catching HIV wouldn't be fear out dying, since it can be treated well. But the social stigma surrounding HIV positive people. I would have to keep it a secret from family and friends.

If its not too personal a question may I ask how you caught gonorrhea i.e sex Bareback, BBBJ etc ? |

I work abroad a lot and a pre-employment condition is a HIV test, so I get tested pretty regular. It is reassuring just in case I slipped it in uncovered one night while anesthetisedby Sang Som

J2 I would certainly advise not doing lazer eye surgery on yourself, always seek the help of a qualified practitioner as your eyes are very important. I do some basic DIY in the uk which i limit to putting up curtains and tie backs, i would never consider operating on my own eyes, you have been warned. If in doubt sort your fucking self out |

Did you know there actually is HIV immunity but it's very rare. The immunity is not 100% but it's somewhere around 95% I'm told. I recently got my genome scanned because I have a friend that works for a biotech firm. Unfortunately I don't have the immunity gene. That would be so freaking sweet if you were immune. This isn't where I got tested but I read you can get tested here.
