the girl i was whit on my last trip comes from that village.

and yes she want me to go visit next time,so any information on that village would be nice.

place to stay?place to rent car or bike?

my missus informs me that ban dan not have hotel, you will have to stay in buriram, she recommends wong tong hotel near bus station, and get bus to prasat.

she reckons prasat may have small place to stay but will very quiet and not be able to rent car there, so again get one from buriram and travel down daily or stay at girls folks place.

I seem to recall that there was a member on another Pattaya board that was looking for information on Prasat a while ago, think his id was nhscotsman. I think I passed through Prasat on the way to one of the temples, but can't remember for sure.

You can rent a car across the street from the Vong Tong in Buriram City at the Internet Cafe (automatic) or the hair dresser (standard shift). I have rented from the internet cafe twice before and they were good to me. I don't have anything to do with their business.

Forgot to mention, there is another hotel on the outskirts of Buriram City called the Thepnakorn. It's newer and a bit nicer, but you will need transportation to do anything. Last time there, they had just completed a swimmiung pool, if that excites you?

Vong Thong hotel was 1400 Bhat,2 months ago for vip room (one of the biggest i stayed in Thailand) but old and not very clean ,regular room
700. Big shoping center 10 minutes by car with many food shops (MK, KFC..)

If you smoke, make sure you take a decent supply of fags wuth you. I was at a village in Buiriram in february and the nearest 7/11 was 30 minutes scooter ride way. I enede up smoking Kung Threp which was like buffalo shit rolled up in bus tickets.

I live in Amphor Ban Dan and the best advide I can give is to stay in Muang Buriram. The best hotels there are the Thepnakorn (has a pool) or the Vong Thong. Both hotels have reasonable restaurants and the Thepnakorn is next to the Rad complex which has live bands and Coyote dancers. Good food at Book and Bed which is opposite the Vong Thong near the car hire previously posted. Ban Dan is about 17Kms from the city along highway 219, there is nothing there!!!! But I am sure you will enjoy the surrounding area.

You really cant go wrong so much if you choose one of the hotels Vong Thong OR Thep nakon, Thep-Nakorn is much much better but again,you get what u pay for..
Prices range between 600-1200.
I stayed in the Thep-Nakorn and rented car from the "Buriram Expats" guy and it worked fine for me.
