Hi guys

Whenever I try to watch something full screen in media player it shows the video upside down for a few seconds then crashes.

I had VLC player installed but have uninstalled that to see if it was the problem, I have also downloaded the latest version of media player but still have the same issue.

Any ideas anyone?

Copied and pasted from elsewhere.

When I click on the "View video in full screen" link the video turns upside/down and then the viewer closes.

Try increasing the video hardware acceleration. There are two video hardware acceleration settings and both should be changed:

In Windows Media Player Tools > Options > Performance tab. Move the video acceleration slider to Full.

In the Windows operating system - click Start > Control Panel > double-click Display > Settings tab > Advanced > Troubleshoot tab. Move the Hardware acceleration slider to Full.

What you should do is maybe try uninstalling all your video codecs example. xvid/divx/ffdshow and any other known codecs. After that download either klite codec(its a bunch of codecs installed with one exe). Or try downloading Combined community codec. Either one works pretty well. Another thing is that both come with media player classic which to me works alot better than the newer versions of windows media player.

Here are some links.

Also wma files are windows media audio files so maybe you should try a free mp3 player like winamp. Unless you meant wmv. file?

Yes that Media Player Classic does seem compatible with a lot more video formats.

Hey mate... thanks alot for your help. As I read your reply I remember that I had turn acceleration off in order to record something from media player using camtasia (you have to have it turned off or it doesnt record properly)

Have done as you said and all works perfect now biggrin.gif
