Long time viewer, frist time poster!
I need advice on where to go for treatment of genital warts: I have had these genital warts for more than a year now and have tried several treatments. The latest treatment was Aldara (imiquimod) and it took four months but finally it had worked. It almost immediately stopped any new warts from forming and the existing warts had pretty much disappeared when I booked my trip to Pattaya. But soon after arriving the original warts came back (arghh!!!!!!!). The doctor said that if the Aldara didn't work then I would need to have them lasered off. These warts are on the inside of my thigh by my testes and not actually on my genitelia (I thought I'd add this comment to prevent the usual 'that's what you get for not wrapping it up'). I haven't been laid in over a year since last time I was in Thailand. These warts are causing me great frustration and sometimes bouts of depression. But I refuse to have sex with some unsuspecting girl as HPV (virus that causes genital warts) is also the leading cause of ovarian cancer. I don't want that on my conscience. So my question is, can someone please tell me where I can find a doctor in Pattaya (who speaks english) and who can be trusted to either, treat me (laser therapy), or else refer me to a trusted and knowledgable specialist? Please and thank you |

I found in this section (health Issues) a thread about recommended hospitals and there is some great advice in there. The hospital Bumrungrad in Bangkok can get rid of genital warts through ultrasonic vapourization: minimal scarring and very fast recovery time.

Hi S.F. When you talk with the Doctor about laser treatment be sure to ask him about the success rate of getting completely cleared from one laser treatment. I had laser treatment in the U.S. about 15 years ago and had to have two different laser treatments to finally get rid of all the warts, and I didn't have that many nor were they very large. About a third the size of a pin head. Two different day surgeries at the hospital and the cost was high. Anyway, I don't want to scare you but ask about success rates of the laser treatments. Hopefully, laser technology advancements will require only one pass.

Update:
Well, Dr. Olivier, wasn't too helpful. He suggested I go to Pattaya-Bangkok hospital as he doesn't do the liquid nitrogen or know of any specialists in Pattaya. I told him about Bumrungrad and he said they were an excellent hospital. He charged me 500 bht for consult (is it unethicl to barter with a doctor?) LOL rdgntx - Genital warts are caused by the Human Paploma Virus (HPV), lots of information about it on the internet... Once contracted you never get rid of the virus, though several drug companies are working on it as an estimated 40% of north americans have the virus. As for laser treatment, freezing, ultrasonic evapouration, and so on, you get rid of the warts that you have but the virus is still underlying so you will get outbreaks again. Everyone is different as far as their recurrances. Aldara (the topical drug I was on) has an almost 60% success rate at stopping further warts. As I mentioned in my first post I haven't had any new warts since starting Aldara, my problem has been the existing ones. One is the size of a good-sized pimple and another half dozen about .5 mm each. I hope my post is informative to those who are too embarrassed to ask these questions themselves. But if 40% of North America has the HPV virus there has to be others like me out there. Please share your stories or ask questions (on this thread that is, not at social gatherings... that's just awkward). |

Hey Bro, Just go to Bumrungrad. Might be more expensive but that is not important. Walk in and you will have about 5 lady's ask you what you want. Just kinda tell them that you have problem with your penis. They will give you a paper and walk you to the elevator and tell you what floor bla bla bla. You will see a doc. He will look at it, and tell you what to do. I tried the aldara before, and it didnt do shit! Gave me a badd rash, it was horrible. They used the laser on me, and it took about 1 min for it to finish. Healed in about 10 days and you cant even tell there was anything there and it didn't really even hurt.
I tried the freezing too and that does not work at all, have to keep going back and back. Havent had anything in 2 years now dude. Shit never came back. I'm really fucking careful now. Bumrungrad then laser, then ice down your junk. They also say that alot of times, the body eventually cures that, and it never comes back. Average time is about 2 years from what I read. Later |

I'm definitely not a doctor and don't necesarily recommend this but:
had one on my finger, tried nitrogen and it came back. didn't want to keep going back to the doc..so lit a match blew it out and immediately pressed it against wart. blistered same as nitrogen and it has been gone ever since, probably 10 years now. |
