Some weather expert is predicting the worst storm to hit Thailand in 50 yrs could hit in the next two months. He reckons that some gulf coastal provinces could be devasted by storm surge. They're even giving out booklets on what to do in the event and hospitals are practicing emergency procedures in the event it strikes. My missus is in a right stress about this and wants me to move the new sofa upstairs as well as computers etc. I usually a pretty optamistic person but I must admit this seems to have many Thais pretty spooked.

My fiancee has also heard this, and is asking me for internet updates...
Maybe I'd better move my desktop upstairs when it starts... shame about the books.

I think the prediction is just that, a prediction. At times the gurus can not even pedict the weather a week before-hand let alone for the next 2 months.

As I sit here checking the tracking maps to see how close "FAY" is going to come I see this thread.
Gee .... I was hoping for a little peace and quite in Thailand.

Does not look like there is anything in your imeadiate future.
Taht looks like fairly generalized chart.
Perhaps this was one of those "weather prepareness" things.
We get a whole bunch of 'em here every spring.

All the same, I don't think I'll book a hotel near to the Beach next month.
