one of the remaining traditions of aussie rules.

when a player kicks there 100th goal for the season the crowd runs on and celebrates !!!

Great to see it done. Fevola was a bit stiff finishing with 99 for the season.

Felt sorry for Fev. First time ever a player has gotten stuck on 99. He hit the post once as well.

I dont follow Aussie Rules much, except when Sydney make the grand final, but this seems to be a pretty major achievement.

However, its left me wondering, over a 24 week season or so, wouldnt the top players average 5 or 6 goals a game or is this unrealistic?

Fantastic. I'd hate to be one of those security guards on the field. The closest things I've ever come to pure anarchy were in the Paris student riots in 2006 and the LA Riots when I was a kid. I've always secretly dreamed about rushing the field during a heated World Cup match.

Why do AFL players still wear kit from the 1980s?

Excuse me?!!!!!

Now I'm a Collingwood supporter (infact I work for the club) but labelling the Bombers underachievers is a bit cheeky.

Not only do they have the most flags (with the Blues) in the comp I would have been stoked to have seen as much success as their supporters in my lifetime.

They have always kept their identity, never milk the AFL for money, fill stadiums in lean years & continue to play in Melbourne.

They are actually a wonderful club.

Compare them to the Hawks.
Sell out to Tasmania, move to the far east of Melb., dump all their 'star' players in a self enforced 5 years of mediocrity & get lucky that the Tigers don't draft Franklin.

The Bombers have never won the spoon!

Trust me, they're a pretty good club.
