To add an event to the calendar you must first open the calendar. Go to the top right hand side of the main screen and click on the link to the calendar.
[attachment=524:001_Sele...Calendar.jpg]

Once you have the calendar open go to the bottom right hand side of the screen. There you will find three options for entering an event: Single Event, Ranged Event & Recurring Event.
[attachment=525:002_Add_Event.jpg]

Adding a Single Event

To enter an event that will only occur once click on Add Single Event.
[attachment=526:003_Add_...le_Event.jpg]

Once you have opened the screen to add an event the first entry you will need to make is an Event Title.
[attachment=527:006_Sing...er_Title.jpg]

After entering your Event Title the next entry you will need to make is the Event Date. First select the drop down menu to select the day of the event.
[attachment=528:007_Select_Day.jpg]

Once you have opened the drop down menu you will need to click on the day of the event to select it.
[attachment=529:007_Select_Day_a_.jpg]

After you have selected the day of the event the next step is to go to the drop down menu for selecting the month and click on it.
[attachment=530:008_Select_Month.jpg]

Once you have opened the drop down menu for the month you must select the month of the event by clicking on it.
[attachment=531:008_Sele...Month_a_.jpg]

After selecting the correct month for your event you will need to ensure that the year of the event is correct. Normally the current year will already be selected but if you need to change the year then select the drop down menu to select the year by clicking on it.
[attachment=532:009_Select_Year.jpg]

Once you have opened the drop down menu to select the correct year for your event find the appropriate year and click on it.
[attachment=533:009_Select_Year_a_.jpg]

The next section to enter is for setting a specific start time for your event. If you do not require a specific start time skip this section.
[attachment=534:010_Sele...art_Time.jpg]

If you wish to set a specific start time for your event click the checkbox to open additional features.
[attachment=535:010_Sele..._Time_a_.jpg]

After opening the Event Time window you will see 2 new areas which need to be completed: Time Zone and Start Time.
[attachment=536:011_Sele..._Main_a_.jpg]

The default time zone has already been set for Thailand so unless your event is taking place somewhere other than Thailand you will not need to change it. If you do need to change it then click on the button for the drop down menu.
[attachment=537:012_Sele..._Zone_1_.jpg]

Select the correct time zone for your event and click on it.
[attachment=538:012_Sele...ime_Zone.jpg]

The next step is to enter the start time of your event. The default format for this is 00:00, you may enter the time as per normal or as a 24 hr time.
[attachment=539:013_Ente...art_Time.jpg]

The next step is to select which calendar you wish to enter an event on. You have 2 choices; however, unless you have Admin, Moderator or Business Owner priviledges you will not be able to enter an event on the Events Calendar. Anyone can enter an event on the Rehabilitation Calendar and this has been set as the default, so for most entries it will not need to be changed.
[attachment=540:014_Cale...ent_Type.jpg]

If you have the proper access to enter on the Events Calendar and wish to make an entry there then select the drop down menu and click on it.
[attachment=541:015_Sele...endar_b_.jpg]

Select Events calendar and continue on to the next step.
[attachment=542:015_Sele...endar_c_.jpg]

Next you have the option of making your event either a Public Event (everyone is able to view it) or making it a Private Event (only you will be able to view it). The default setting is for public event and this will cover the majority of events and will not need to be changed. If you do wish to make it a Private Event then select the drop down menu.
[attachment=543:016_Sele..._Type_a_.jpg]

Once you have opened the drop down menu select the Private Event function displayed.
[attachment=544:016_Sele..._Type_b_.jpg]

After entering the type of event you wish to enter then you can move to the next section which is where you can enter a description of your function. Entering your function description is done the same way as entering a normal post on the forum. You can add text and you can alter the size, color and effects the same as a normal post. you are also able to add emoticons to your description if you so choose, it is no different than a normal post in that regard.
[attachment=545:018_Ente...cription.jpg]

Once you have entered your event description there are only a couple of steps remaining. Go to the bottom of the screen and on the left of the screen you will see a checkbox that enables emoticons. If you have added emoticons to your descrition ensure that this box is checked, it is normally already checked by default.
[attachment=546:019_Enab...moticons.jpg]

Finally you need to go to to the bottom right of your screen and you will see a box that says Add Calendar Event. Click on the toolbar and you will have completed your entry and your event will now be posted to the calendar.
[attachment=547:020_Add_...ar_Event.jpg]

Adding a Ranged Event

To make an entry that spans several days or weeks click on Add Ranged Event.
[attachment=549:004_Add_...ed_Event.jpg]

Once you have opened the screen to add a Ranged Event the first entry you will need to make is an Event Title.
[attachment=527:006_Sing...er_Title.jpg]

After entering your Event Title the next entry you will need to make is the Start Date for your event. First select the drop down menu to select the start day of the event.
[attachment=551:022_Ente...t_Day_a_.jpg]

Next select the correct day that your event will start on and click on it.
[attachment=552:022_Ente...t_Day_b_.jpg]

After selecting the correct day for you evnet start you will need to slect the correct month so click on the drop down menu to select the start month.
[attachment=553:023_Ente...Month_a_.jpg]

Next click on the appropriate month for your start date.
[attachment=554:023_Ente...Month_b_.jpg]

After selecting the start month the next step is to select the start year for your event. Normally the default year will be the current year, if you need to change this then select the drop down menu to select the start year.
[attachment=555:024_Ente..._Year_a_.jpg]

Select the appropriate year from the drop down menu and click on it.
[attachment=556:024_Ente..._Year_b_.jpg]

Repeat the date selection procedure to select the end date of your ranged event and then carry on filling in the spaces as per the Single Event procedure.

Adding a Recurring Event

Normally the only ones that will need to entering a Recurring Event are business owners for such events as a weekly TGIF or a regularly scheduled bar crawl or a similar type of event that will happen an a regularly occuring basis. The only special thing about adding a recurring event is that you will need to enter how often the event will occur. To do this you will need to ensure that first you have enteredinto the proper screen by clicking on Add a Recurring Event on the main calendar screen.
[attachment=557:005_Add_...ng_Event.jpg]

Once you are on the correct screen look for the section that says Recurring Event, this is where you will set the start and end dates as well as the frequency of your event. there are three selections under frequency: Week, Month & Year. The date settings are done in the same way as for a ranged event. To set the frequency of your event select the drop down menu to the right of where it says Recurring Event beside the word 'every'.
[attachment=558:031_Sele...rence_a_.jpg]

After opening the drop down menu select the occurence frequency of your event.
[attachment=559:031_Sele...rence_b_.jpg]

After selecting the Occurence frequency for your event carry on with the remainder of the form as per normal.

If anything here is unclear or you experience difficulty please do not hesitate to contact one of the Pattaya Addicts staff for assistance or post you question in this thread and it will be answered as soon as possible.
