Hi guys if anyone can give me some advice on the best Golf courses around Pattaya it would be greatly appreciated. Would like to consider things like cost, quality and distance from walking street area in making my choice on where to play.

Any comments appreciated.

The course consistently voted the best in this area is Laem Chabang, a 30 min drive down the motorway from Pattaya.
There's a group of very good courses incl Burapha (opposite Laem Chabang), Siam Country Club and the newly opened Siam Plantation, both about 30-40 min drivee from Walking Street. A little further away you have St Andrews 2000, a very challenging course and co-located with Rayong Green Valley, very popular and Pattana Sports Club, about 45-50 mins away.

At the "middle tier" you have courses like Phoenix, Khao Kheow, Green Valley, Eastern Star. Phoenix is close, about 20 mins drive, the others more like a 45 min drive.

The cheaper courses, but my no means sub-standard, include Emerald near Ban Chang (45 mins), and a string of courses up on Road 331. The two of interest are Greenway and Treasure Hill, both 50-60 mins drive from Walking Street.

Golf carts are compulsory at Laem Chabang, Burapha, Siam Country Club and St Andrews 2000 which makes them a little more expensive.

Unless you already are a member of Pattaya Sports Club, you should acquire a membership card for 500 baht. This will give you an approx 30% discount on every course, so you get you many back in a couple of games.

You can any number of golf groups, playing out of various bars in town. I myself have a golf tour company and can provide you with transport to and from the golf courses. We offer discount prices at most golf courses and only charge for transport.

Good luck and enjoy the superb golfing in this area.
