The hotel is on Chaweng Beach road so its minutes away from everything. No taxis required unless you want to tour the island or go to Lamai. Its not guest friendly though and a payment is required. The facilities are exactly the same as on the website.

The Long Beach Lodge is a good choice. Paid 1200 Baht
Tel: + 66 77 42 23 72 (also fax, don't have e-mail)

It's 100 metres from the Irisch pub, right on the beach. Close to everything you need.
You'll be staying in private villa's.

To my suprise, they do have A/C, and even a good one! (Low noise)
Can't understand why they don't promote the hotel a bit more.
Perfect location, no need for transport, everything can be done on foot...

The view from the lodges restaurant in the morning B)

Cheers,

Spencer.

gs joe,

I'm just wondering how you got on? Did you stay in the Long Beach Lodge?
