Pavena Foundation takes 4 year old Walking Street performer into care following public complaints.

The Pavena Foundation was founded by former Member of Parliament Pavena Hongsakul back in 1999 and is a non-profit organization which helps women and children who are abused or come from poor families who are unable to support their children. On Monday Night, Khun Pavena came to Pattaya after receiving a complaint from a member of the public regarding a 4 year old boy who is often seen on Walking Street begging for money. The search began and within the hour, the young boy was found. The boy’s father, Khun Sampan aged 34 was also found and both were taken to Pattaya Police Station along with Khun Sampan’s daughter. Evidence of possible abuse were seen on the boy’s arms in the form of bruises and Khun Pavena spoke with the boy who explained that he was forced to make dancing shows on Walking Street. All money made by the boy was given to his Father. The boy also alleges that if he did not make enough money in a night, he would be beaten by his Father. Police interviewed the father and a urine test was conducted on the Father which he subsequently failed. He was arrested and charged with consuming a class 1 drug and the boy was taken into the care of the Pavena Foundation for now.

I watched that on that god awfull "news" show today. I know the kid he dances in Hot Tuna every night.

there is also a very young thai girl, probably 5 or 6, who does acrobatics on WS every night. she was there last night watched by "mum"

is that the kid who does all the hip hop dancing.

Yeah he was in the night we were in last week. He's a cool wee guy but obviously thats because he's told to be.

I think we all would love a magic wand we could wave that would get the kids off the streets and into school. It's the toughest sight i see in town but what can you do it's a no win situation for us.

I'm glad he's been taking into care, walking street is no place for a kid.. besides we really don't need the tabloids going on about kids being exploited because us mongerers are there with money.
