Don't think you can go far wrong with something like this. I always check out places like Flickr to get an idea of the sort of pics Mr & Mrs Average are taking - it's always a reliable guide to the sort you'll be getting as well.

Just seen this post

I got one last year
Its great 5x optical zoom(most cameras this size are 3x)
touch screen on rear, so many shooting options.
The sliding front cover protects the lens
and the best i think, its small and lightweight
goes in your pocket easily or get a small case fits on belt.

My verdict 10/10
Just get a spare battery, its always handy.
and a decent size memory card 2 or 4 GB

Also the video mode is pretty good also.

I'm looking too, and really like the small size, and 5x optical is good too.
However I'm thinking of getting something slightly bigger, a Panasonic TZ5 which does 28mm-280mm, ie wide angle and 10x optical, but it won't find in my pocket as well as a T200.
Got a couple of months to make my choice, maybe something better will come along.

I've got the T100 which is the same as the T200 but hasn't got smile detection (although it has got face detection) and does not rely so much on using the touch screen as the T100.

However all the reviews that I have seen have said that for some reason the T200 is just not as good in terms of photo quality as the T100 so you should get the T100 if you still can. Although the difference is very marginal.

For me portability is key and the T100/T200 take very good pictures given their size. I carry mine in a small case attached to my belt.

I found the following sites to be the best for digital camera reviews

digitalcamerainfo.com
cnet.com

Concur with the comments above...this line of Sony Cybershot cameras are pretty good - just buy a spare battery and keep it handy because the first thing that goes is the flash capability when the battery starts to run down. Using the video recording capability will suck up lots of juice!

Great camera.

Looks a nice gadjet and my friend has one.

Sony equipment is top class in my book.

I've had the T-50 since it came out and I love it. I think the 200 is even smaller than mine, and I take mine around in my pocket no problem. The battery lasts for days unless you use the movie mode.

I have the T200, its good for the next day when I'm hungover as it has the anti-shake function.
You do need to get a memory card and extra battery.
I dont think you would be unhappy if you get one of these.

i had a sony, but wasn't thrilled with it. they dont seem to have all their menu choices down easy to me and the camera wasnt made to operate quickly.

im a big canon fan.

canon powershot 950 IS. badass to the bone. 12.1 mp. outstanding video.

I have just bought a Fuji F100fd only taken a couple of photos with it so far.

I am impressed with the photo quality but will be in a better position to judge after I have given it a proper trial at the time it was a toss up between this one and a Cannon 85.
