A doctor would come and they would go to the locker room and draw blood from every girl. We didn't tell girls before it happened. I am a bit lax. We used to it about every 6 months. I have never had a positive test.

How many tests altogether?

In all, I'd guess about 300 tests. Never seen a positive. I have never heard a customer or a friend say anything about AIDS or contracting something. I never contracted anything.

I think the chances of getting it are very low.. say for example you fuck 100 girls and one has it.. as per 1% suggested statistic. Technically you'd need to fuck that girl 100 times to get it, 0.3-0.9 % chance as quoted by valleyboy. So if your just shortiming around and making sure your not infected with other STD's then i think the risk is very low..

But nobody knows.. that crazy lady that i know had a friend that had "HIV" she said and all her hair started falling out apparently. Also her male friend 40 years old died in the bangkok hospital, he had been mongering for 10 years down soi 7 and soi 8.. he had caught HIV off a girl in Bangkok apparently. I dont know if he used protection but its scary.

The problem is in thai culture its a bit taboo.. no one wants to admit it, its hard to know if the girls are just trying to scare you to stop you fucking other girls.. god knows.. the only way to find out is by seeing the doctors.

When i went for a hiv test in my home town as soon as i said Thailand the woman looked very worried, she told me alot of guys have caught it from Thailand. That shit me up.

I did have a girl from another country who apparently died of Aids. Shitting myself for a few years until I got tested.

In Oz the stats say that if you are the High Risk group then you have a 2% chance of getting HIV.
That would be the take it up the arse and druggie groups.
There is a 5% chance of being killed in a car accident!

I suppose that these % would be up in Thailand. But not to a hieght that we need to be hysterical about.

About 4 months ago I had to get a hernia fixed in the BKK Pats hospital & they told me that I had to have the HIV test 1st. I was shitting myself as I have had 100's of TBG's unprotected. Just before I was knocked out a lovely little nurse gave me the thumbs up (Clean).
I am glad they didn't tell me of any other things like liver damage etc!

So it is like everything we do has a risk.

That seems to be accurate and honist.

What worries me about the original post is that someone 'involved' in the business might just have a vested interest in promoting the services of a bar girl as completely safe .

Sort of like knowing the used car you bought is 100% reliable since the salesman told you ! :blink:

I take the interview with Boss Hogg at face value. I think he is telling the truth.

If AIDS in Nana Plaza was a big problem probably STICKMAN would be shouting at the top of his lungs.

I have read (on the net admittedly) that the chance of catching it while having unprotected vaginal sex with a HIV positive person is 1 in 1000 (ie 0.1%)

As some people have already stated there are some who stand to benefit from elevated infection rates. One of these are those promoting abstinence.

Right on Scumbag. The article says essentially that sex was far more dangerous in the 60's & seventies because condom use was next to non existent & people were catching all sorts of nasty crap.

The same source of accurate figures we used when I was a volunteer on a Manchester aids project.
They are usually more accurate than the government ones as politicians 'tweak' the numbers sometimes!

The 80% number produced by a Thai academic recently were a load of bollocks though !
The new HIV Asian strain 'gets a ride' on other STD's , it seems , so is easier to transmit.

That's the truth , I wish it was otherwise .
If it's pissing some of you off then I suppose I could always tell lies and say you can't catch it here !

HIV was not easy to transmit from a female to a male ( The W lib lot kept that quiet ! )
Now it is going 'piggy back' it is !
