I know the appropriate answer is sex & beer but I'm curious poll-like if you dabble in mostly Thai/Issan foods or get your daily Fish & Chips?

I'm pretty comfortable sitting at Buakow market on a plastic stool eating next to motorbike taxi drivers for 30 baht as I am eating 3000 baht meals at Fuji Sushi.

I do admit giving my 'toot' a break once in awhile and having the salad bar at Sizzlers.

So what about you? Spicey Somtum or Pig & Whistle?

If I get up for breakfast which is rarely 2-3 times for the trip , i will have English Breakfast but all other Meals are Thai Food, after 2 weeks I start craving mashed potatoe so I might incorporate a falang meal every second day.
The only other Falang stuff is occasionaly I wil treat myself to a sundae in BIG C.

Kiss Cafe or Stone Oven Cafe , is where i'll have my Brunch most days.

Breakfast buffet at the Areca Lodge, a Whopper or a slice of pizza in the afternoon and in the evening a nice T-bone or a filet mignon. Sometimes a Thai dish for a change, but I am not that much into Thai food.

Thai food for me, not really fussy about where from, 20 baht food from street vendors tastes equally good with the one comes out of a posh restaurant.
If I fancy a fill-up, buffet in the Lek Hotel will do, a good selection of both thai and farang food available for a cheap price. biggrin.gif

Thai food because I'm a cheap bastard... Have to fork out for immodium though.

Noodle soup on the street - lovely.

My stomach does need some stodge now and then - English breakfast or pizza.

'Fuji' does good stuff - Japanese chain... saki and raw fish.

With that in mind, how safe is the food purchased from street vendors?

That about sums it up - the busy popular food carts are fairly safe and I use them regularly. When in LOS it is Thai food for me 95% - I can get that western stuff anywhere and anytime, but good Thai is much harder to find in the USA

Breakfast at either the Apex or Lek Buffet. Dinner at the Pig and Whistle,Big C plaza, or the nearest bar with balloons!

Then Beer, water,beer,water.......

PS: Plenty of Thai food at home... I do miss all the varieties of Fresh fruit in the markets !
