Outside Starbucks at TukCom is a good one. You do NOT need to buy the True card they sell in the shop as there are about 4 other newtworks you can pick up there.

You can usually get signals all along beach road AND the beach itself but they are poor signals usually.

Re Subway - are you sure its free? the one on 2nd road near BigC isn't free, at least you cant pick up a free signal sitting outside it.

Not sure dude but think about this

Most Subway shops in Thailand (cant speak for Pattaya) now have an internet cafe inside. I can't believe they are going to "sell" internet access IN the shop to customers and at the same time let liggers like you and me sit and use it for free.

Greg Lange - the guys who runs Sunbelt - has the franchise on Subway in Thailand and he is a tight bugger - lol. Actually he's a nice guy but he is a businessman first and foremost which is why it would surprise me.

My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE place is the coffee bar in the car park where they hold the Wat Tai market (pattaya tai end of soi Buakow). This is 100% free and they make GREAT coffee too - far better than the crap Starbucks serve up here - at a fraction of the cost. They also have an in-house bakery and make pretty good pastries. I say pretty good coz they are not exactly a Thai Forte at the best of times. DON'T go there Tuesdays or Fridays as that is market day and you will not get a seat. REALLY REALLY nice older Thai coupkle run/manage it - smiles all round and great service. One gorgeous waitress too if you fancy a challenge while you surf lol.

Slightly off topic - watch out in Starbucks here. I saw them re-using grounds the other day and at 100bht a coffee that really sucks!

I'm on it but had to wait until vendors release updated applications that work with Vista.
Some was a must have for me.... Cisco VPN, PGP, Mobile Phone Sync software, etc... I'm pretty much up and running now though. FYI SP1 for Vista is due out in Oct'07

In BKK on Sukhumvit the subway/coffeeworld around from NEP has free wifi
if you bring your laptop. The one on the opposite side of Sukhumvit was not free. Possibly it's
that way elsewhere on a store to store basis.

BTW, using their PC's for internet would not be free.
