When I first started travelling to LOS, the currency exchange rate was 42 Baht to 1 USD. As of this writing, it is about 31 Baht to 1 USD.

Intro message

I wanted to start this group for us Westerners who want to give and get info on LOS (Land of Smiles).  I have been to Thailand (Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket mostly), and would have liked to have information on what to do, what to bring, what not to do, and what not to bring.  Also, I would have liked to know how, where, etc...

So, that said, I am always planning my next trip, as I guess many folks from western countries, U.S., Canada, etc...  Sorry if I did not name your country and you consider yourself a westerner.  Please feel free to correct me.

So, please post fare info, (I fly from LAX or SFO) and any other info that you feel is useful for westerners, or that you would like to know.

I have met some LOS travelers in between trips, mostly in California.  So I am up for some get-to-gethers as well, for war-stories etc...
