  1. Alternatives to Areca.

There are a few which do - Dusit Thani for example...
  2. Alternatives to Areca.

I use an S7 Edge and never use hotel WiFi when in Pattaya. Get yourself a good 4G package, I'm typically there for 10 days and it costs me 175 baht for 5 gigs on Ais. Once you've done that, go to settings > connections >mobile hot-spot and tethering and then turn on Mobile hotspot. Now you can connect your iPad, laptop or whatever you want just like a normal WiFi connection but using the data on the phone Works fine for me when I need to work while in Pattaya Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Not bad as a free upgrade because they screwed up! The other room wasn't bad, but this one's miles better. The fat lady at the reception has promised me the same upgrade ever time - happy days... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Checked in today and got the same room I had last time. That time the air con was making water into the room and they had a repairman come in and repair it. This time the same problem was there again! On complaining that the air con hasn't been repaired in a month, I was quickly shifted to another room, which is much much better. Overlooks the pool behind, is really large and all in all much better, unbelievable value for what I paid... The only thing to not like is the tiny fridge - I just pull out all the mini bar stuff and put my stuff in... Some pictures - Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Just got better, I cancelled on and rebooked on the hotel site and the price came down some more... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Of you want to spend your time in LK Metro then maybe it's not what you want. However, it's a short walk to Soi 6 and they have hourly shuttles to the Beach Road side of Central which by and large takes care of my transport needs! While not big, the rooms are excellent for the price, the WiFi is good and they through in a desktop comp if you're in a Deluxe room... Haven't seen a better place under 1000b yet... Thanks for the heads up Lottelee. I alledy have an upgrade promised as I booked on the Amari website naa . Stayed there about a 3 weeks back, so I believe it wouldn't be very different, but, I'll definitely post how I get on this time too... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  10. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Just back from a week at Nova Gold. Like Lotalee said, the breakfast was a waste because I made it only twice in the week that I was there, but, since the cost on their site was the same for with our without bf or didn't really make any difference. Pros: Easy walk to Soi 6 where I spend a lot of time The balcony because I'm a smoker The shower and bath - I've stayed only once in the Areca because of the shower over bath thing and I hate it... Nice large king size bed - love it because it gives me space wth the LT... The fact that they allowed me a late check out at 4pm... Cons: You need a bike taxi if you're coming from the LK Metro area, to much of a pain with multiple bath buses... Not on any BB route - you have to get to 2nd Road on foot. However, they do have a shuttle that takes you to Beach Road, every hour... Having to drag ones sorry ass down to Amari Nova for breakfast... All in all its a great place for the price and I will be there again soon... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Same here. Its a pretty easy stroll down from here to Soi 6. Like I said, the bit that I find a pain is dragging my sorry hungover ass To Amari Nova for breakfast... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

You're right about that, but, as I wrote, I booked it absolutely last minute. Rooms are available for next month for 1100 inclusive of breakfast according to the people in reception here... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  13. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Staying In Nova Gold at the moment. Booked direct on the hotel site Monday morning and checked in on Tuesday! 8888 all in including breakfast for a week. Got a free upgrade to a Deluxe from the standard. Have stayed here quite often earlier and everything is just the same, and I mean that in a good way, even though the walk to Amari for breakfast is a pain... Great for the price... 14. Best 1,000THB hotel in town

Have stayed in Nova Gold several times and, at its price, its one of the best options that I've found in Pattaya. However, the location is a bit out of the way for me (used to have a LLT with a car when I stayed there regularly) and the only other downside is the really small fridge. Stay at the Stay now at about 1800B on Soi 10... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  15. Areca v sea me spring 2

Have stayed at both. Like the SMS2 much better because I hate that shower over the bath in Areca. If you're looking for the "resort" feel then SMS2 is not the place, Areca with it's two large pools has that resort type feel. However, the showers are the deal breaker for me...
