Three Russians accused of smoking Marijuana in front of South Pattaya restaurant

Three Russian Tourists were caught smoking Marijuana outside of a Restaurant in South Pattaya in the early hours of Monday. Region 2 Police were on routine patrol when they caught the strong odor of Marijuana outside the Restaurant where patrons are often seen using Hookah pipes. On this occasion the Russians were seen placing Marijuana on the Hookah’s and were approached and arrested. Mr. Evgeny Ukolov aged 30, Mr. Ivshin Genwani aged 28 and Mrs. Ukolva Oksana aged 30 were taken to the Police Station and all urine tested but were found not to have consumed other illegal drugs such as Methamphetamine. 3.53g of Marijuana was seized and placed into evidence and they were charged with possession of a class 5 drug.

A 69 year old British man was drugged and robbed of valuables after he took a woman he had just met, back to his room. Police and Rescue Services were called to the Jasmine Villa Hotel on Soi Beokeow on Sunday afternoon and to the room of Mr. Brian Richmond aged 69 from Mountain Ash in South Wales. He was in a confused state and evidence of a disturbance inside his room was clear to see. Mr. Richmond’s room safe had been forced open and items of value including a gold ring, gold necklace, wrist watch, mobile phone and personal documents were taken, according to Mr. Richmond who confirmed that in the early hours of Sunday he had invited a woman, thought to be aged in her twenties, back to his room after meeting her nearby. Mr. Richmond was escorted to a waiting Ambulance and taken to Hospital as a precaution and Police will ask Mr. Richmond to construct a photo-fit image of the woman when he is able to do so, as they look to locate and arrest her before she reoffends.

A disturbing incident occurred on Walking Street in the early hours of Sunday Morning which was initially dealt with by the Tourist Police based on the street. Three men from Estonia made a complaint at the Tourist Police Mobile Unit regarding a confrontation with three Thai Men in Soi 15. It is thought the men were being ushered into a Show Bar but decided at the last minute that they did not want to go. The Thai men became angry and a fight ensued. The men were told to make their way to Pattaya Police Station to make a report, however they decided to take matters into their own hands and went back to confront the Thai men. It is thought that more than 15 men set-upon the three Estonian Men. One managed to run away, a second was hit over the head with a steal pole and a third man was stabbed in the leg with a broken bottle. A major artery in his leg was severed and he was rushed to Hospital. Later on Sunday he died from the injury according to medical staff at the Pattaya Memorial Hospital. The incident, which is now a murder investigation, occurred only meters away from the Tourist Police Unit and is now being investigated by Pattaya Police and the Tourist Police as the hunt for the attackers continues. We understand that as of Monday Afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the attack.

In the early hours of Monday, Police and Rescue Workers were called to the Saranchol Condo in Soi Wongamart in Naklua by Security Guards who discovered the naked body of Mr. Harald Schmidberger aged 60 from Austria, who is listed as a Managing Director of the Red Bull Company which originates from Austria. He had fallen from the balcony of his 18^th floor apartment and was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. An inspection of his apartment took place and a variety of medications to treat Cancer was found. Staff at the complex confirmed that Mr. Schmidberger appeared in a depressed state over the last 7 days which they assume is connected to his illness as he lived alone. Two Irish nationals were arrested by Pattaya Police in the early hours of Friday, accused of being involved in a fight at a Beer Bar which left two Thai men with serious stab wounds and two other foreign patrons with minor facial injuries. Police were called to the Pattaya New Plaza Beer Bar Complex on Second Road close to the Central Pattaya Road intersection where staff of two Bars, the Pussy bar and Boom Boom Bar, reported a fight between two groups of foreigners, which started after two of them demanded a refund of Bar Fines paid for two Bar Girls earlier in the night. Two Thai men, one working as a security guard at the complex and a local motorbike taxi driver, stepped in to attempt to stop the fight but were then allegedly stabbed by one of the foreign fighters. The two men thought to have started the fight were soon located and arrested at their house located in Soi 17 in South Pattaya close to the Land Department Office. At Pattaya Police Station, Mr. Darren Delaney aged 39 and Mr. Thomas Plunkett of the same age, both originating from Dublin, Ireland but with strong Liverpudlian accents, were questioned and Police reported that Mr. Plunkett stated that he admitted to stabbing the two Thai men in self-defense. Khun Promar aged 41 was stabbed in his neck and chest and Khun Yongyut aged 23 was stabbed in his stomach. For now both Irish men are being held pending further investigations

Baht bus driver stuns foreigner with his honesty

Many people seem to think Thais are not much better than common thieves. The following is a story which happened to me recently.

I live in an apartment complex in the south Pattaya section of Third Road. I have just had surgery on my hip and so it is difficult to walk long distances.

I wanted to do some shopping at Home Pro in Big C on central Pattaya road, so I flagged down a baht bus and told the driver I wanted to hire him to take me there. I offered to pay him a flat fee of 200 baht. Probably over-priced yes, but I didn’t want to haggle too much.

I sat in the front with the driver and paid him off at the entrance to Big C and went inside to shop. Not long after, a woman came to me carrying my Thai driving licence in her hand. She beckoned me to follow her to an information counter. At the counter was the baht bus driver and a policeman. The woman then handed me my UK driving licence. By this time I realised I had lost my wallet, which, of course contained the aforementioned licenses.

The woman and the policeman explained the baht bus driver had spotted my wallet on the front seat after driving off. He had come back to Big C in order to return it, with all my money and cards intact.

Naturally, I was greatly relieved at this man’s honesty and being prepared to save me an enormous amount of inconvenience. I gave him a reward of 200 baht for being so honest. Not a lot for some, but I don’t have a lot of money anyway. The incident certainly made me realise that not every Thai person in Pattaya is only on the make.

Officials later carried out a search and discovered she had allegedly matted the Class A drug into her dreadlocks before boarding a flight from Brazil.

A Russian Tourist arrived at Pattaya Police Station early on Monday Morning wearing only his underwear after his clothes were stolen while he went for a late-night swim on Pattaya Beach. Mr. Sergi Marushko aged 30 explained to Police that he decided to go for the swim at the northern-end of Pattaya Beach and when he returned to the beach his clothes had disappeared and there were no witnesses who could explain who took them. Inside his trouser pocket was 1,500 Baht in cash and luckily his credit cards, passport and other personal items are safely locked-up in a room safe back at his Hotel. We understand that one kind-hearted Police Officer purchased a T-Shirt and pair of shorts for Mr. Marushko who returned to his Hotel where he awaits news from Police about the recovery of his shirt and trousers.

Three Africans and a Frenchman were arrested for allegedly running a “black money” scam on Pattaya area tourists and residents.
Fredrick Neba Fuh, 28, of Cameroon, Jean Messolo, 36, and Ahmed Camara, 26, of Guinea; and Vincent Philipot, 40, of France were apprehended at a south Pattaya hotel where they allegedly based their illegal scam.

In their rooms, police seized 6,000 blank pieces of paper cut to U.S. dollar size, five notes of an unknown currency, an aluminum case, luggage and four mobile phones.
Transnational Crime Coordination Center investigators alleged the four ran numerous scams in which they convinced people trying to make a fast fortune by counterfeiting currency that they could turned the black-coated paper blanks into American dollars by simply washing them with chemicals in the aluminum case.
The scammers then had their targets pay large sums for the supposed magic chemicals, then disappeared.

BANGKOK -- A gambling den owner and topless models have given themselves up to the police.

The models admit to taking off their clothes in public. Meanwhile, the gambling den owner confessed to opening a permanent gambling den.

Yesterday, at the Sai Mai police station, two topless models and a gambling den owner, Tanate Pradittane or Tee turned themselves to the Deputy Metropolitan Police Bureau Commander Police Major General Sarote Promjareon.

Sarote said the two models who appeared in the picture admitted that they were the people in the clip.

They also confessed that they were hired to perform model walks at Wongsakorn market where the gambling den was located.

Then, they agreed to take off their clothes in order to receive more money from the gamblers.

Unfortunately, the naked clip was released to the public.

Each of the naked models were fined 500 baht for performing obscene acts in public before they were released.

In the meantime, the gambling den owner confessed that the building was opened as a temporary gambling den, and the permanent gambling den is under construction.

Therefore, he organized the gambling party and hired the two models to perform.

However, he aborted the plan after the news was released.

The police charged two gamblers, Narong or Dum and Wiwat or Ake.

All three suspects will be brought to the Min Buri provincial court tomorrow.

A tourist from Oman was assaulted and robbed on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Saturday. The incident took place opposite the Best Friend Bar Complex just before 3.30am and the victim, Mr. Mustafa Alagmi aged 23 sustained facial injuries and was taken to Hospital where Police were told that he was walking along the beach alone when he was confronted by a woman who suggested the pair return to his Hotel together. The pair walked down to the beach itself to discuss the proposition further when two Thai men emerged from the darkness and proceed to assault Mr. Alagmi, during which time, his Blackberry mobile phone and 3,000 Baht in cash were taken from him. The men were then seen to leave on a motorbike in the direction of Walking Street.
Police are investigating the case and will increase their presence on the Beach at night from now on to ensure further cases of assault and theft from tourists does not occur again.

Regional and immigration police captured two French nationals who allegedly used counterfeit credit cards to steal more than 10 million baht from Thai ATMs.
Nagim Hassainia, 33, and Samir Raihane, 41, were captured in their north Pattaya hotel rooms Jan. 14. A team of Pattaya, Chonburi Provincial and Immigration Department Transnational Crime investigators seized 31 fake cards and 125,000 baht from the two men and their belongings.

Hassainia and Raihane face the press after being caught using counterfeit credit cards to steal from Thai ATMs.

A British man committed suicide at a Central Pattaya shooting range on Sunday afternoon. Police and rescue services made their way to the Pattaya Klang Shooting Range located on Pattaya Beach and inspected the body of Mr. Andrew Michael Davis aged 42 from Stockport, UK. He had suffered a self-inflicted wound to his head and the moments leading up to his death were caught on Security Cameras inside the shooting range. Mr. Davis, who was under the supervision of Khun Gitsana aged 25, purchased a total of 20 bullets for a 357 Magnum which is the weapon he chose to use when he arrived. The first fifteen bullets were expelled into the range and in the direction of the target. A further 5 bullets were loaded into the gun and after the first two, which were also expelled in the direction of the target, Mr. Davis is seen to point the gun under his chin and pull the trigger. He fell to the ground and died instantly. The shocked instructor, who was standing to his left, claimed he was unable to prevent Mr. Davis from taking his own life and he appeared relaxed throughout. Police know little about Mr. Davis but do have his Hotel key and a rented motorbike. Any possible motives behind the suicide are also not known. The British Embassy in Bangkok are aware of the death and are providing consular assistance to the family of Mr. Davis.

A British man was hurt following a fight with a suspected thief who had broken into his Thai girlfriends rented room. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday at the SY Mansions off Third Road in Central Pattaya. The legal occupier of the room, Khun Waragon aged 34 was about to leave her room and meet her English boyfriend, Mr. Brian Hobson aged 41, who was waiting downstairs. As she walked down the steps leading out of her apartment complex, she noticed a man walking up the stairs who she did not recognize. When she left, she turned-back and saw that the light was turned on in her room. A call to her boyfriend was made and the pair returned to the room and saw that the front door had been forced open and the Thai man, later named as Khun Nalong aged 31, was inside and in the process of stealing items. He attempted to escape but was followed by Mr. Hobson who entered into a scuffle with Khun Nalong who suffered head injuries and was quickly overpowered. Items taken by him, including 45,000 Baht in cash and a mobile phone were recovered and the Police were called. Khun Nalong claimed he was desperate to raise funds for his son’s education but despite his story he was arrested and charged with theft.

Doesn't surprise me at all the underage prostitution in Isaan.
Many parents don't care if their girls,boys or ladyboys are selling themselves even at an early age.

I witnessed some strange behavior..ranging from an old lady who suggested that i should hook up with a 12 year old girl or teenagers who would call me my love,miss you and so on.

Obviously it is a direct step for some of these girls to come to work in a bar in Pattaya after they already sold themselves in the sex trade in their village.

A young lady seeking to comfort a tethered Rottweiler was attacked by the dog.
Waana Noisong, aged 21, was badly bitten by the large animal that she spotted as she wandered down Walking Street. She was rushed to Pattaya Memorial Hospital with a seriously torn ankle. Medical treatment reportedly amounted to about 20,000 baht. No one has come forward to claim the Rottweiler.

Pattaya and Sattahip Baht Bus safety fears

Parents and concerned residents of Pattaya and Sattahip are looking for answers from the Police regarding their apparent lack of action in relation to the dangerous use of Baht Buses, especially during peak-times. On Thursday Morning we followed a White Baht Bus, which operates on the Sukhumvit Road between Sattahip District and North Pattaya, which clearly had too many passengers and was travelling at a high rate of speed with the rear of the vehicle dangerously close to the road surface because of the excess weight from mainly students who were on their way to school. We counted a total of 30 people, including the driver, inside the cab and on the rear of the Baht Bus. Some were holding on to the back of the Bus and their feet were only inches away from the road surface. We approached Sattahip Police who claimed to have recently arrested two Baht Bus drivers but they admit to being unable to punish them effectively due to outdated traffic laws. It appears the practice is set to continue and we can only hope that this does not result in road accidents causing serious injury or even death.

A man of British and Thai dual Nationality was arrested at a Police Checkpoint in South Pattaya in the early hours of Saturday. The checkpoint was situated inside Soi 17 in front of the Land Department Office and resulted in the arrest of 14 people. Mr. David Herbert Lee aged 30 was caught with a bag of Crystal Methamphetamine weighing 0.32g. A second man was found to be a Cambodian National who had entered Thailand illegally. The other 12 Thai nationals were charged with consumption of a class 1 drug. Mr. Lee who was carrying an expired UK Provisional Driving License confirming he was born in Thailand was charged with the more serious offence of possession of a class 1 drug and will appear in Court on Monday.

Nikita Varenenkov, 22, and Samonki Muhail, 23, suffered cuts and bruises Dec. 9 after a fight with two transvestites at their Soi 10 hotel.
The Russians told police they believed the ladyboys to be ladies and, once they discovered their mistake, canceled their short-time interludes and refused payment.

Aphichart Pongsawan and Withya Sudlao, both 22, then allegedly assaulted both Russians, who were treated at Pattaya Memorial Hospital. The two women-of-the-second-category were both charged with assault.

When Mr.Mitterpleininger arrived at Soi Buakhao Moo 9, Banglamung a white Mazda, license number YOR NOR 8450 Bangkok hit him. The German was slightly injured.
The Mazda escaped without stopping to see if the motorbike was damaged or not. Mr. Mittelpleiniger asked the police to follow up and arrest the Mazda driver.

The police stopped the white Mazda at the traffic lights in Central Pattaya and inspected the vehicle and the driver Ms. Suthatip Khemthong age, 30 address: 565 Prajantaket road, Tambon Nangrong, Buriram province. The police asked her to step out of the car. She was charged with careless driving and causing injury to other road users. And when the police was going to for investigation at Pattaya police station suddenly Ms. Sukhontha Khemthong age 36, the elder sister of Ms. Suthathip Khemthong the passenger, who was severely drunk shouted “I’m a red shirt supporter. Why arrest me?”
She shouted at the police then climbed up on roof of the car and took off all of her clothes and shouted “ I’ll show my skills, I studied at Ramkhamhaeng University”.

Then she danced nude on the roof of the Mazda. A lot of lot of people saw her. They criticized the police for not getting her down from the roof. The police tried but the drunk woman did not comply. The incident caused a traffic jam.
The police had asked for assistance from the onlookers, mostly women who helped the woman to get down from the roof of the car. She arrested for drunken behavior.

Upon investigated Ms. Suthatip Khemthong, the younger sister, the driver of white Mazda confessed that before the accident she and her elder sister were drinking at bar in Walking Street, South Pattaya.
They got drunk then drove back home and hit Mr. Johann Mitteerpleininger’s motorbike.
Ms. Suthatip said, she didn’t’t intend to escape she just wanted to drive her drunk elder sister home.
And come back Pattaya police station to report the accident – but she was arrested.
She said, she knew that when her elder sister gets drunk she will be out of control. Ms. Suthatip apologized to the police.

Thais hold Britons over sex claim

Thai police have arrested two British men, an American and a German in the beach town of Pattaya on suspicion of child sex abuse.

Police allege the suspects had hundreds of photos and videos of abused boys at their homes, an hour from Bangkok.

The arrests came as a result of a joint operation between police in Thailand and the UK's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).

If found guilty, the men - aged 45 to 66 - could face up to 20 years in jail.

Thai police said CEOP - under the auspices of an operation called Naga - had provided them with a list of about 50 suspected paedophiles who might be in Thailand.

The police said the four men had now been taken from Pattaya to Bangkok's police headquarters.

The foreigners, all long-term expatriates in Thailand, were named by police as Malcolm Henry Payne, 59, and Robert Alexander Horsman, 45, both from Britain; Robert Roy Lond, 62, from the United States; and 66-year-old Fritz Deiter Blattner, from Germany.

The four men will face charges of sexual abuse, illegal detention for a sexual purpose, and physical and mental torture of under-age boys.

A 30-year-old Thai national was also arrested, accused of soliciting the boys on behalf of the men.

CEOP chief executive Jim Gamble said the arrests sent a message to European paedophiles who thought they could evade capture by travelling to countries where law enforcement was thought to be weaker.

He said: "Britons who travel abroad to abuse children in the belief they can evade justice are a UK problem and we have a duty to protect every child, everywhere."

Thailand has become the focus of international concerns over the sexual abuse of children, following a series of paedophile arrests.

Canadian Christopher Paul Neil was tracked down to Thailand in October last year after Interpol reconstructed a series of digitally "swirled" internet images of a man abusing boys.

The former teacher has since been sentenced to a total of nine years in jail for abusing two brothers.

An Indian Tourist was badly beaten on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Monday by a gang of Thai men and women. Mr. Yatindra Nirjun aged 36, who sustained serious facial injuries reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station following the arrest of one of the suspected attackers, Khun Nalaert aged 42 who accepted allegations he was involved. Mr. Nirjun explained he was walking along the beach opposite the Montien Hotel with friends when a group of two women and three men approached Mr. Nirjun and attempted to take items from his trouser pocket following a suggestion the women join Mr. Nirjun at his hotel. The victim reacted quickly but could not prevent the theft of his wallet which contained 20,000 Baht in cash and his mobile phone. The three men in the group allegedly assaulted Mr. Nirjun before running off with their female companions. Khun Nalaert was charged with assault and Police are currently tracking down the other suspected attackers.

Officials say record numbers of foreign visitors flocked to Thailand in 2011 despite the country's worst flooding in half a century.

Tourism ministry spokesman Vachara Kannikar said Thursday that more than 19 million people visited Thailand last year, a significant jump from about 16 million a year earlier.

He said flooding in parts of Bangkok and elsewhere caused a dip in arrivals in November and December but only marginally affected the ministry's original target of 19.5 million international visitors.

The ministry attributed last year's jump to an increase in tourists from Asia.

The largest numbers of overseas visitors came from Malaysia, China, Russia, Australia and Japan.

Interesting, the shift continues. I'd like to see more of the list than the top 5.

Dear Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Happy New Year 2555 (2012). Since in 2012 there are many outdated regulations affecting foreigners in Thailand, and, by extension, the Thai citizens in their families, I would like to ask you to consider having your Ministry of the Interior to start the New Year looking into four major issues. We understand dealing with the flood crisis is the top priority of your administration. When there is time, please consider these reasons outlined herein for your administration to update Thai laws regarding condominium purchases, the inequality of the law not granting Thai citizenship to foreign men married to Thai women, but allowing foreign women married to Thai men to be citizens, and most urgently reducing financial requirements down from 800,000 baht per year for long stay retirees who own their homes in Thailand and also reducing the investment visa requirements so foreigners under 50-years-old can live here year-by-year instead of month-by-month
