I am moving and would like to find a decent hotel room to rent on the dark side (soi kaonoi) area for when I get bored out in the NE Thailand and need to come back for some r&r.
Can you recommend any that are clean, wifi and reasonable?

you could try this place not soi kanoi but the nearest i could find to it so you could book a day or 2 to use as a base whilst you check the soi kanoi are out http://www.agoda.com...n_plub_wan.html
