Five will get you ten that this is another case of insecticide poisoning like those "mysterious" deaths up in Chiang Mai. The hotels can manage their bedbug problems with pyrethrin which is relatively harmless to humans (but not to cats).

Or maybe I'm wrong and it was a ladyboy who went crazy with the GHB. Very sad in any event.

They are only now deciding to perform autopsies? What is it? About 2 weeks since they died.

I find these deaths very alarming. Does anybody remember what caused those deaths in Chiang Mai?

The compound that caused the deaths (7, I think ) in Chang Mai earlier was a crystaline Organo phosphate incecticide commercialy know as Chloro Pyrifos and as I understand widely used in Thailand for treating for and against bed bugs. The compound is banned in Europe and also in the US for such application and a significant study is currently underway in the EU to determine what regulations should be imposed. However this is LOS or more correctly the "Country of Contradictions" who put more store in tourist dollars than they do in human life. I also agree with the earlier member who writes why so long for an autopsy, yes indeed , perhaps one of their briliant forensic scientists has suggested that if you allow significant time for dissociation and decomposition you will have a better stab at blaming it on toxic seaweed or posionous mushrooms. It is a joke and a bad one at that. Most of the patron's of this site know this country only too well. What ever the relevant authority come's up with will be to their own ends and to the protection of their own intrest and credibility. The real sadness here is for the family's of those who have fallen foul from the total lack of control and accountability that LOS is so internationaly famed for.

Yes but, the family will get the bodies back and hopefully they will have their own independent autopsy done. I know I would. And I'd sure make sure any discrepancies get reported on national/worldwide news if something fishy was amiss.

Wow...so I guess two young healthy girls died of natural causes at the same time. Amazing
