Hi all,
Each holiday I like to stay for at least part of my holiday at a new hotel.
For the next trip I have taken a gamble by booking 7 days at R-Con Blue Ocean.

It's situated right between 2 beer bar complexes and this is both a positve and a negaitive...time will tell on that. Noise vs Convience vs too close to home.

The rooms look new and modern...I love that the shower and bedroom are separated by only a glass wall (and a blind if necessary)

Has anyone stayed there and if so what was it like?
Is there a joiners fee? I hope not. :)

It's between action street and their own complex.
I wont be staying there for another 2 months and am hoping that someone has stayed there.
Even searching google I have not found any reviews yet!

I Stayed at the Old R-Con for a while - I have no personal knowledge but I asked the girls who worked at the old R-Con who are now working at the New R-Con.

They say it is Noisy But the rooms are new and nice. I never stayed there but Its a noisy place.

Good Luck Gerry

A friend of mine stayed there for a few weeks. Rooms are nice and no joiner fee but both sides of the hotel have new beer bar complexes so it will be noisy all evening and all night....and i mean VERY noisy.

I picked the Nemo rooms specifically for this reason.
These are the orange coloured fish themed room that are in the highest level.
To be honest though I think I keep the same times as the bars usually do will be heading to bed about to times that close.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks for your feedback.
If you are a return customer then it must be good.
I booked for August and am looking forward to staying in a new area.
It's also quite close to one of my favorite bars...Carrie Le Blanc so that is a plus.

What is the indoor entertainment complex like?
Many bars with women in it or just more like an empty big hall with no atmosphere?

I went to book this place with Agoda a couple weeks back.
It seemed like a good deal at the time and then they added their fees when I went to pay.
The fees added another 25% to the nightly rate so ended up being the same price as booking on the hotel website (990Baht per night in August)
I just decided to simply book through the hotel's direct website instead as then I could also pick what room I wanted.

Really looking forward to staying in this area for a change of scenery...it looks great.

I stayed here when it first opened, only paid b800 per night. Lovely rooms but gets alot of mashed up noise from the bar complexes. TV s too small for the rooms and only one a/c unit takes some time too cool the room down

Thanks for your honest review.
I did notice in the photos that the TV was quite small.
But to be honest I never watch TV anyway do this will not be a concern for me.

slightly off the subject but i discovered this bar complex last night and called in. a really well done place, nice decor and a cut above most of the other complexes. If the hotel is anything like it, then it would be nice. Not all the bars are operating yet so the noise level might not be too bad but they have spent some good money and it deserves to succeed. Not very visable unfortunately and I drove past it twice.

Guys remember that Agodas prices can change very frequently. The 990 could be 880 an hour or a day later so woirth checking back.

I am staying there long term and I had the same reservations for a start , but I rented a room for a few days paying daily prior to commiting, and I have found it to be very good value for money. However I am away at the back and also up on the 7th floor , I would highly recommend a south facing room ,due to the noise issueswith the bars on the north side that the other posters have mentioned.
TV too small yes but hardly ever use it , and when I do I watch it, It is from the couch so no issues , there is a small balcony which is handy if you are a smoker , or want to dry some clothes. The pool is small but adequate ,
The staff are also very friendly and helpful. It was the best that I could find for the money staying in a central location.
I hope this helps.

Sorry I am late in replying , I have only just seen your post. I pay 12990 per month . with water and electric above that.I bought a small fan to supplement the A/C as it can get a bit expensive if it is on all the time.
