Last night, I'm going from my place on Narciso St (near MiniMart) to SM Clark Mall. I call a trike. I say, "How much?" He says, "Up to you." I told him, "OK, 20 pesos." We go.

When we arrive, I give him 20 pesos, and he starts to laugh, in the sense that means "If you think I'm going to take 20 pesos for this ride, you're dreaming."

But that was the agreement we had. If he had a different price in mind, IMO, he should have told me.
I had a girl with me, and she told me, "70 pesos." So, because she's there, I hand over 50 more.

If I was alone, he would have taken 20, and if he didn't like it, I would have taken the 20 back and given him nothing. I mean it.

And if he wants to do something about that, he'll get done.

Sorry if that's not a nice thing to say, I'm really just being matter of fact.

It's not that I think 70 pesos for the ride is unreasonable, it's his "Up to you, 20 pesos," agreement, then insinuating (by the tone of his laughter) that the agreement was off.

I'm extremely angry about this. Maybe I shouldn't be.

Should I have given this guy 20 pesos and see how he likes it? See what he wants to do?

Those guys are usually in groups. Should I have called over another one who would give me a firm and fair price?

Has anybody got an appropriate solution for this kind of situation?

As a solution, I tend to avoid them, I walk if it's not too far.

That's the best I can think of.

Anybody??

Thanks.
