Nude or not nude, that is the question   01/05/18

An inordinate amount of the Moderators Teams time is spent on ensuring inappropriate images are removed from the forums where necessary as per Rule 29. On investigating why people have posted nude images in a non-advanced area, the vast majority of the feedback we've had has been "I didn't realise where I was".  Therefore, we have added a visual indicator to help you quickly identify whether you are posting in the advanced or the non-advanced area. If you are in an advanced area you will notice the page background is now a pale green - green for go.                               If you do not see the green background it is your responsibility to double check where you are on the site prior to posting any images/videos. This is doubly important for those using Tapatalk due to the fact we have no control over the Tapatalk theme (i.e. Tapatalk users will not see this visual indicator). Offenders will be sanctioned.

I just found this great video of Pattaya from 1979 on youtube.

Germans visit Pattaya during Xmas 1979 and stay in the Regent hotel. An 8mm film of their holiday.

I remember renting those catamarans (14' Hobie cats) around 1983. I ran into a fishing net about a km offshore and capsized one once with a bar girl who couldn't swim. I managed to get it upright and got her aboard ok and we continued on. The fishermen wanted compensation but I told them to fuck off, the net had no visible floats.

those colours of the eighties are just great, then the pace of things....who could ever think this would become something nostalgic?

Nice vid, the Baht buses haven't changed a whole lot! Wasn't the Tahitian Queen open back then?

Wish I was in Pattaya in 1980!

I believe that everything would be so different, untouched and very cheap in those times ;)

My first visit to Pattaya was in 79 on the U.S.S. Midway, a United States aircraft carrier.  Was 24 and had to wade ashore from the liberty boat.

Great memories.  Thanks.

I love watching videos like this. Really gives you a good perspective about how short life is and makes you want to live it. See that hot girl in the video, about 20 years old? yeah she is 60 now. Gives you a good scare!

I liked the way you see. You are so right about the shortness of life. We have a very short time in this world and many of us do not actually realize of it.  We should definitely live our lives to way we want and enjoy every moment to the fullest  ;)

Pattaya like everywhere else in Thailand has changed. All that money flowing in sure has helped boost the economy. You see hotels and Luxury apartments being built non-stop. Plus all the influx of tourists from China, Korea and India unfortunately.

I hate to sound like one of those grandpas, but as the popularity of the internet grows and as tourism gets more rapid, things will start becoming even more expensive if not already. Thai locals will be the ones holding the bags of money as development and property skyrocket. Thailand is losing its culture and authenticity. Street markets are closing down and being gentried into shopping malls... but most importantly, bar fines and massage prices will go up for a poor person like me.
