Nude or not nude, that is the question   01/05/18

An inordinate amount of the Moderators Teams time is spent on ensuring inappropriate images are removed from the forums where necessary as per Rule 29. On investigating why people have posted nude images in a non-advanced area, the vast majority of the feedback we've had has been "I didn't realise where I was".  Therefore, we have added a visual indicator to help you quickly identify whether you are posting in the advanced or the non-advanced area. If you are in an advanced area you will notice the page background is now a pale green - green for go.                               If you do not see the green background it is your responsibility to double check where you are on the site prior to posting any images/videos. This is doubly important for those using Tapatalk due to the fact we have no control over the Tapatalk theme (i.e. Tapatalk users will not see this visual indicator). Offenders will be sanctioned.

Why are they promoting tourism during high season (when it's already at peak busy-ness) instead of during low season (when they could use extra visitors)?

Would make more sense to me to put incentives toward encouraging tourism when it's slow for the sector, instead of trying to bring even more to Thailand when it's most packed.  :Dunno:

Unless TAT has concerns/indications that this high season isn't going to be as high as expected, and they don't want to lose face by having a precipitous drop in tourist numbers...

Hence why it seems they are doing this suddenly 'at the last minute', instead of announcing it maybe three months ago?

Seems a little late to do this and doubt this in and of itself would draw more visitors, as I expect most tourists have already made their December/January travel plans by now...

That's very fair, considering how much tourists contribute to the economy.

Australians don't pay a fee already. Nor do we need to apply for visa.

The MFA website has a chart that has the 19 countries that can get a Visa on Arrival and the countries that can enter Thailand without a visa.

Entering without a visa someone could get 14, 15, 30, or 90 day entry depending on nationality and whether entering by a land border or by air.

read an article on this which said they will loose 1000 baht x 350,000 people (equals 350M baht) to generate 28 billion in tourist spending. 8,000% ROI... not bad

Most Thai girls (and many Thai guys) know the name of the King of Bhutan (and most think he's really handsome). I think relations between he royal families are close because they both have monarchs.

Most of the tourist from this list of countries get Visa on arrival which was increased to 2000 bhat from original 1000 bhat on 27 Sep of this year. Now they have reduced it back to original 1000 bhat. I will not call this really a reduction as we were paying 1000 bhat till 2 months back.
