PA BM Sydneysiders $ Transfer info & ? for Thai Town

8 posts in this topic

Pattaya Business Services

I Just ran into a Thai old work mate that i use to transfer money for Thais in sydney to a Thai bank account but he doesn't do it any more. So he put me on to going to Thai town.

1)There are meant to be a few there he told me to just ask around to find out where exactly but does anyone here know where they are.

2) I haven't got a Thai Bank account yet but he also said it will be the best way to do it. Don't think it will beat talking cash.but he said it wil be better than banks rates. So i am gathering better than doing a transfer yourself online or swift transfer or using a ATM(including Citibank no fee withdrawal as i know some of you go this better route)

Have Any BM gone this way or thinking of doing it some insite will be great going soon for 6 months and eventually living there so it would be good to have the option of someone depositing money for me this way in sydney when needed.

My ex tgf  used to send money to her sister this way. But I have no idea where exactly it is or the name of the place.

I reckon if you went to Thai town and asked someone in a restaurant...or massage parlour :) they'd probably know though.

A quick Google came up with this place..

There is an X-wing at 420 pitt st sydney just up from the corner of Pitt St and Campbell st opposite the metro hotel. It is the back of a small shop selling Thai make up and stuff.https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.8790306,151.2071476,3a,75y,104.73h,87.31t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sTYOexXh97H4dN5tlM2Zsag!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1   Its the shop behind the bike in the picture.

I have used xwing many times. They are excellent. Better than bank rates. But you need a thai bank account to have the money deposited into. It doesnt have to be your account.

Their rate is usually 40 points less than the exchanges on the street in pattaya.

I've used Xwing for the last 5 years or so. Went there just the other day. As mentioned, it's at the back of the shop. There is an xwing sign out the front of the shop. Very easy and quick to use. The money is usually in my Thai account in the next 4-5 hours.

CT Exchange up some stairs near Pontip grocery store.   you get a membership card and can do everything on line with bank transfer too.   Decent rates I've found and cash is in the account within 3 hours.
