Nude or not nude, that is the question   01/05/18

An inordinate amount of the Moderators Teams time is spent on ensuring inappropriate images are removed from the forums where necessary as per Rule 29. On investigating why people have posted nude images in a non-advanced area, the vast majority of the feedback we've had has been "I didn't realise where I was".  Therefore, we have added a visual indicator to help you quickly identify whether you are posting in the advanced or the non-advanced area. If you are in an advanced area you will notice the page background is now a pale green - green for go.                               If you do not see the green background it is your responsibility to double check where you are on the site prior to posting any images/videos. This is doubly important for those using Tapatalk due to the fact we have no control over the Tapatalk theme (i.e. Tapatalk users will not see this visual indicator). Offenders will be sanctioned.

Sabai Empress - closed for renovations

Recommended Posts

LBK

Sabai Empress on the corner of Soi 1 and Second Road. Work supposedly commenced this month and will complete in three months.

Obviously they would have planned this for quite some time, but of course they didn't contact customers with advance bookings.

I had a prepaid booking and was sent around the corner to Sabai Wing, which is an old mediocre hotel. There is also new building construction taking place immediately next to Sabai Wing.

If you have a booking during the remainder of 2018 you should contact them and/or cancel.

It has not been open very long.  Why was renovation needed so soon?

Not clear what they're doing or why, but stuff was being winched out from the upper floors while they've broken up some concrete at the entrance.

Think it has been open longer than that.

Just checked and it was 4 1/2 years ago that I stayed there but seems like a lot longer.

I think it opened around 9  years ago. I used to like the beer bars that stood on that site before and they had closed last  time I stayed at Sabai Lodge as a holiday maker, over 10 years ago.

Perhaps 5 years it's been open...I quite enjoyed my stay.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have been coming regularly to Pattaya for 7 years and I think that it wasn't there when I first arrived....but maybe I'm wrong.

The first tripadvisor reviews are in 2010 and one of them says it was built the previous year.

2009 is correct as I booked some rooms there for a couple friends of mine on their maiden trip to LOS/Pattaya almost 10 years ago.

Wow...time really does fly. Didn't think it had been opened that long.

I can't believe that on 30 Sep 18,  I'll have been retired 18 years.  Time does fly, especially when you're having fun.
