Current Music Policy
Bar Fine

Has the "nice" decor been maintained or has it gone the way of many others i.e. shabby.
Any other info' would be greatly appreciated.

Can't make out any changes since last year, but if someone goes there frequently he might not notice any difference.

BF is 600 as far as I remember. Don't know how much for the show girls.
Music is the usual expat friendly stuff, no car alarm.

Barfine - 600bht girls/1000bht showgirls (never barfined here! so if its changed pls update)
Beer - normal prices normal hours - 8-9:30 happy hour (possibly the only place i'll frequent for happy hour as decent measures & beers at 65bht)
And Robin & Robert are decent blokes who will always help out :P

I am not sure why so many guys love the GO/GO bars. Expinsive drinks & Lady drinks. Huge barfine & of course the Ladies charge big money for LT or ST.
Well I can understand of course on your first trip to Pattaya to experiance everything including the GO/GOs, but after the newbe in you wears off I have found STUNNERS in the beer bars with 200 baht BF and 1000 baht LT. Why reward the places with your bussiness that take advantage of you by charging big money for everything? IMO.........

Comfort and security I'd guess.
Of course the drinks are going to be more expensive when your sitting inside an airconditioned building with naked women dancing around/in front of you. And I believe the barfines are higher again to cover the charge of the fact that you know what she looks like already, and had a another chance to guage her personality by how she works, as it's a much more interesting work environment then a beer bar. I know there's many exceptions but the general gist of it is they are usually younger, better looking and more fun. I'd always looked at the beer bar ladys more as companions or half friends to make while in Thailand more then anything else, and use them as a starting pad, before going to 1-3 GoGos and finding some decent sorts, then meeting up with them later on in a club and partying until the sun comes up.
I'm only generalising here, but the beer bar environment is a lot more placid, and the majority of the girls attitude reflects that, although they still like to get wild sometimes, it's not going to be, or they wouldn't be too comfortable changing it into a daily routine. So it becomes a matter of personal choice as to how you like to spend your time in Thailand, some like it a little faster then others and pay a little more for it, you can also develop new social cliques, learn more about how the different bars and areas and clubs work and bring another branch of the Bargirl Mafia down onto yourself to ensure your being watched 24/7.
All in all, it's a more electric environment and I don't mind paying the difference for the service I've had, and in saying that, I've only been into one GoGo bar I didn't like and it may have just been a bad night for them(In Pattaya that is), but there's plenty of beer bars I could think of that just offer nothing in the way of entertainment or venue, and rely far too much on the farang to generate an atmosphere for the bar to keep it running, where's the gogo bar does that for you, and you can just add in your own little way or sit tight and try not to drool too much.
Different strokes for folks, just keep having fun is always the best option, and take from it what you can of others experience in different areas.

It is a rule in some of the big GOGOs that phone numbers are never allowed to be exchanged by the customers and ladies. Girls will do it outside the bar but rarely at the bar. Do you know if she ended up getting canned for it?

I'm also a regular customer who has drank with friends there on many nights in the past year and one-half.
The prices quoted sound about right, but the show girl barfine drops at either midnight or one to 600 baht, I forget which.
Some pictures of the girls there in May:

Show up and buy one draft for 65 baht and try to swap phone numbers and of course you're gonna get a cool welcome.
That would hold true in any ago-go!!
Play by the rules and you can expect a warm welcome and rounds headed your direction from Robin and Robert.

I would never give a girl my phone number whilst in the go-go - it's just asking for trouble unless you had barfined her in the past and were a regular there. Exchange phone numbers with the girl when you're back in your room.
If you're seen exchanging numbers in the go-go, the manager/mamasan will assume that you are trying to get out of paying the barfine.
