Just read in a local paper that a Danish man had been chatting with a TG for some time. Obviously he liked her and she asked if they were to meet. He wanted her to go to Denmark and she replied that she would like to, but he had to send her some 25000 Baht (maybe a little bit more) for the ticket. He did send the money, but never heard from her again. Now he has reported the incident to the local (Danish) police...

Come on - the guy must be more or less braindead... If he spent just a few minutes reading the rules of getting a visa for a TG to Denmark he would have known it was a scam - or just a no go. He could invite her to come to see him, but that would cost a bank guarantee of something like 300,000 Baht, the girl would have to apply for a visa in the Embassy of Denmark in Bangkok and go to an interview (waitingtime approx. 3 months). After that he would have to pay for the ticket, her insurance and some 40,000 Baht in her bankaccount. Even then she would propably not get the visa as they have never met...

Whats the lession?? I see nothing wrong with sending a thai girl you've never met 30,000 baht.

Nor do I ! I'm sending 4 TGs 20000 baut a month , they say they love me so that's ok isn't it?

Unfortunate person ! A little bit more think next time there is no harm in that. Sometimes really unbelievable stories. Some people are incorrigible !

If I was the Danish cop taking the report I would of had a hard time not laughing in his face.

Back when I had an internet cafe, one of my workers chatted up farangs on Yahoo, MSN, Thailovelinks, etc.  I had to tell her to cut back on the e-mails & instant messages as she was neglecting work, in the end she ended up quitting as she got over 100k baht from one farang she only chatted with.  She ended up opening her own small cafe, who knows what kind of dammage she's doing now.

ting-tong love sick farang. I really have no simpahny for them.
In this day and time with the internet and all.
I use Yahoo mail and have from day one. I still get 50-100 spam emails a day, all going to spam folder.

II cannot understand how stupid farang get scammed with so many ways to check out a story.

There is a sucker born every second, and this just goes to prove it.

I bought my return ticket to Thailand for $860 (but that is from Australia).

He should have saved him money and gone over there instead.
I kinda feel sorry for the sucker.....but then again the story was pretty amusing.

One of my ex wives phoned me yesterday asking me what's the best way to get money sent from UK to her in Thailand, she's been trolling the various chat forums like a shark in warm waters and snagged herself one. She's always online, sits there in front of her computer most of the day, every day, she's married to a Thai copper too. LOL.

Wow. How naive can a man be. Its no secret that the danish goverment have made it very difficult to get visas. The alarmbells should have rung, long time before he sent any money.
Too bad for him , as he could have payed for a flight there with 25k in his pocket. Somebody should send him an invite to these forums, to save him the time and money.

If it was his first and last time to get ripped off by a hooker he got off cheap. Hopefuly he learned his lesson. If compared to the super suckers who marry asian hookers and buy them houses he is lucky.

Hehehe. The poor danish guy probably took the term "mail order bride" litterally. This was rather a blackmail order. He got scammed. Thats the beuty of the internet. You know what the scamartist that performed this deserve that money. And the danish guy sure learned a lesson.

Never heard from her again ??? Sounds really strange to me... Havent the buffalo died yet?? Didnt mama or papa have to go to the hospital ?? What about the taxi ride to the embassy, that should be at least 3000 Baht ?? And the fees to get Visas today, maybe another 10K ??

This poor amateur scammer sure has a lot to be learned
