Got to go to Vientiane soon to get a visa as my 90 days is nearly up. Has anybody been recently and got a back to back tourist visa? Are they any stricter than before (ie. asking to see an outbound ticket from Thai) or is there anything else I need to know in regards to the supposed clampdown?

Clampdown seems to be mostly in Cambodia from reports I heard. I just got a double entry from Laos with an agent, all they needed was my Passport and the photo's. I was on a previous double entry tourist visa from Canada so it was back to back. The agents said you can get 2 double entries from Laos with them and then you might get a single. There was an old man from Australia who said he had a ton of tourist visa's and had to do it through an agent now or he wouldn't get one.

I booked the agent through First Class/Five Star here in Pattaya. I am pretty sure they both use the same guy as on both sites it says they leave on the same day, same hotel etc.. You can do it cheaper through another agent probably but this guy was really good and made the trip very easy. It was a 9 seater minibus but I think all 9 seats are rarely taken and the chairs fully reclined so it was easy to just sleep the whole way.
