Hey,
I need to visit a Thai embassy outside Thailand.. give them forms and spend the night there.
Just wondering which one everyone recommends considering I'm living in Pattaya...
Don't mind bus journeys etc.. as I'm actually learning Thai in my spare time!

Vientiane Laos is a good option, nice place to spend a day or two. You can fly near the border for cheap and take a bus the rest of the way from the airport. Lots of cheap accommodation and good food.

Most of the students in my class made the trip to Laos as that was recommended by the school. There is also the option of taking the train which might be better than the bus.

Cambodia is a bit closer but I think the recommendation for Laos is based on how trouble-free getting the visa there is.
I didn't find much nightlife when I went though I did read somewhere that the motorbike taxi drivers will take you to the local brothels somewhere out in the sticks if you're feeling brave. You could always take a BG with you for company
