I had the pleasure of using this hotel/hostel for a few nights when I visited Bangkok. http://www.takeanaphotel.com/
The receptionists could benfit of speaking/understanding a little more english, but they were al both kind and helpfull. We just used this hotel for a few nights, why it was not possible to negotiate a better price for the rooms. But as we didn't have any reservations and we found the prices fairly low we took the chance. The rooms are very decent with a big bed, nice AC, safe, TV and a nice bathroom. One big issue is that the WiFi is not stabil, it turns on and off all the time. Also the breakfast is a bit boring.
On the positive side the hotel is very close the the Phat Pong area and the hotel is girlfriendly.
So all in all it was an OK experience with acceptable prices.
