Info: http://monacobangkok.com/

I stayed 3 times in Monaco Hotel last year : Booked on Agoda for 1300 baht/night tax incl.

Great location, just 8 minutes walk down the quiet Soi 2 from Sukhumvit Rd, and about 12 minutes from either Ploenchit or Nana BTS stations.

Room was a standard Aircon Deluxe, small but well appointed with a Kitchenette and Balcony.

Teakwood furniture and floor.

More like a serviced apartment than hotel, very small and simple reception area.

Mixed clientele with many Arab/Indians in this area, but still no problems.

Pros:

Elevator.

Comfy big bed .

Free Wireless Internet .

Samsung LCD TV with DVD/CD Player.

Comfy TV Lounge-chair.

Kitchenette with Microwave and sink

Big Fridge.

Watercooker and Cuttlery.

Balcony.

Wireless telephone for in and outcalls.

Bathroom with Shower and Bath-tub.

Hairdryer and free Toiletres including Toothbrushes.

Big closet with inroom safe.

Can use Spa/Gym/Swimming Pool at the JW Marriot Hotel for 100 baht/day.

6-7 minutes brisk walk to NEP through Rajah hotels parking lot across to Soi 4 (passed Annie's Massage).

Girlfriendly, keeps ID cards at reception.

Very quiet.

Cons:

TV mostly News and Sports Channels, no Music or Nature/Science/Animal Channels.

I prefer walk-in Rainshower to Bath-tub

In some rooms water from tub runs out on the floor

Balcony limited space, blocked by Aircon unit.

Low lighting at mirrors.

No inroom foodservice, has to be delivered from outside hotel.

At the near end of the Soi, a very hot walk during the daytime.

Other features:

Breakfast Restaurant on 2 Floor, open 07:00-10:30

9th Floor outdoors Lounge

Free TukTuk service to Sukhumvit Rd 24 hours

I had a great stay here and will be back again for sure!

Great value for the money! :)

What was the internet speed and reliability like?

Internet they have a lot of Wifi available, so depends on the level you are on.

Was not so bad really, some small problems.

Speed wise seemed ok, could not really complain.
