  1. I have eaten at Sam's several times. It's a nice place with good food. I go there when I feel the need for standard American comfort food or some Mexican food. Not the cheapest place around, but IMHO serves good quality food. The owner, Sam, is a hands-on type owner. Which, I am learning, makes all the difference for quality food in restaurants here in Pattaya/Jomtien. Nice guy and easy to talk to. He was a long-time resident of San Diego, CA. I am not an "expert" on Mexican food so I am not going to comment on the "authenticity" of any of the Mexican dishes. Each person has differing tastes anyway. A little difficult to find. It is in Soi "Jomtien Plaza", Jomtien. If coming south from Pattaya, don't turn right towards Jomtien beach but go straight past the Hanuman Statue for about 80-100m and turn right (directly opposite Dine from 99 baht). That's Jomtien Plaza. Sam's is almost at the end and is on the right-hand side.
  2. Thanksgiving Dinner at Sam’s Mexican & American Grill Soi Jomtien Plaza, Jomtien Sam is serving an American Thanksgiving dinner for 425 Baht Thursday 24 November 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Soup Roast Turkey with gravy Stuffing Mashed Potatoes Veggies Dinner Rolls Dessert And your first drink is included.

  4. I was exploring some of the soi's off of Jomtien Beach Road and, just by random choice, stopped in this restaurant for a meal. Been back 6 or 7 times. IMHO, they serve some excellent Thai food there. The average price seems to be about 120 baht for some of the dishes shown below. Maybe a bit more than other places but I have found the portions larger than usual and "aroi mak mak". I recommend a try to see if you like it also! Eagle House Restaurant is located on Soi 4 off of Jomtien Beach Road. It's on the south side of Soi 4. I believe the location used to be a noodle shop "Yankee Noodle". That is what shows on the Pattaya Photo Guide for that location. I understand that they also have rooms available and a connecting bar on Soi 5. I have not been in either, so cannot comment on the rooms or the bar. Geng Khiew Wan Gai or Green Curry with Chicken Pat Ga Pow Gai or Fried Chicken with basil and chillies. Penang Gai or Penang Curry with Chicken
  5. If you miss New York style deli sandwiches, then this is the place for you. Went there yesterday after seeing a reference on another board. Ate a Pastrami on Rye sandwich with cole slaw and dill pickle. Tasty and plenty of meat. They also serve a variety of pizza. I didn't have my camera with me so no pic of the sandwich but I grabed a menu and will include pics of the menu. They do deliveries within Jomtien also. Deli-zza is run by a father and son from the USA. They prepare their own meats and bread. For those that want the cheapest sandwich possible, this is not the place for you. But eating that Pastrami on Rye, I could close my eyes and be eating in a deli back in the states! Another thing that I liked about it is that they do not sell the little bottles of water. They had the large 6-liter jug of water and poured my water into a glass. No extra charge for the water with the meal. I can go along with that. It is located on a small soi off of Jomtien Beach Road between Soi 8 and Soi 9. See Pattaya Photo Guide It is about 50 meters down the soi on the left hand side. There is a sign for "Casa Jomtien" at the beginning of the soi. I believe that that is a condo/housing type affair.
  6. This is a fairly new restaurant in Jomtien. It has been open for about six weeks now. The owner is from England and has owned, and cooked in, restaurants there for a number of years. I had previously been there and ate Pat Priow Wan Gai (Sweet and Sour Chicken) with rice. That was good so I decided to go back and try the burgers. I had a Beef Burger with fries, salad, relish, and mayonnaise for 200 baht. It was big and good. 200 grams of Australian beef. The fries were decent and I really liked the taste of the salad. Best burger meal I have had here so far. I will be back when I get my burger cravings. One advantage this restaurant has, especially for those who may have concerns about kitchen conditions, is that the kitchen is in the open and easily viewable to the customer. If you want to take a look at the kitchen, or watch your food being prepared, all you need to do is lean over the counter! 1921 Restaurant is in Jomtien on Thap Phraya road after it turns towards the sea. Almost to the point where it becomes Jomtien Beach Road. Here it is on Pattaya Photo Guide. It is new so it does not show on the photo but it is located where the Fuji Photo place used to be.
