Why is David asking to see IDs of his customers? Since when does the customer have to present IDs?

Why is David asking to see IDs of his customers? Since when does the customer have to present IDs?

The club manager is following laid down protocols, In 95% of cases customers are not required to supply any form of ID. The majority of our customer stay in accommodation that has already checked their ID i.e copied passports and in many cases swiped credit cards.

Where people are staying in accommodation such as a condominium/villa/guest house that does not secure/copy such information, then we require for the first time booking  that person to come to the club with some form of photographic ID.

This is a basic safety precaution for our staff.  If booking an escort in a western country you are required to supply much more information than that and if any of it is false you are refused service. I am also aware that others in Thailand may or may not take such precautions. That is not my concern, however the safety of my own staff is my responsibility, therefore I make no apology for this requirement and would hope that all reasonable people would appreciate our endeavoring to fulfil  our duty of care.
