Food World has been open about three weeks now, but it doesn't appear to be off to a rousing start. The total space is huge, probably bigger than the food court at Central Festival, but I never seen more than a handful of customers when I passed by, whether morning, afternoon of evening.  It's open between 10 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.

The food on offer is what you'd expect at a Thai food court, mostly inexpensive Thai dishes, but at least one vendor has Western-style spaghetti.

I've eaten there twice and wasn't impressed with the food, not at all.  I had the boat noodles with beef at 55 baht ...

IMG_20181231_162821.jpg.38d8af3480697c119483e35f7fcf7d20.jpg

and the fried rice with pork, also 55 baht.

Both I would rank at mediocre as best.  Boat noodles are supposed to have a strong, rich flavor due to the pig's blood and various herbs and spices used in the soup, but the bowl I had was very bland.  It tasted like instant noodles out of a package.  The fried rice was almost flavorless and quite oily with very little pork.  I make better at home myself. The small food stalls that had previously occupied the rear section of The Avenue were much better, as are the stalls in the open-air mid-section.

Bottom line:  Unless things improve dramatically,  I won't be back.

Kahoy

A couple of weeks ago I had a chicken curry in the front right hand corner. It was really nice if not a little spicy, even for me. Then last week i went there again early morning and it was shockingly undercooked. Another place I had the basil chicken but it was way too sweet. I get the feeling that it's populated by new entrepreneurs who can't cook.

10 baht gets you to central festival,  Terminal 21 and fish market in Naklua or Rompho fish market in Jomtien

Which is the best foodcourt in Thailand?

i mostly avoid food courts, i have my favourite street food places, courts can't compare with that for example, pork noodle soup Nam tok style Soi 13/2 40 baht can't be beaten.
I go to food courts when I'm snookered because the carts are closed704d0421a18a1cfc00f0da017ffa8a39.jpg

Well most people i know reckon terminal 21 in Bangkok is vastly superior to the one at Pattaya.

But as Taylor1975 won't impart his considerable expertise in this arra, mr and you can only surmise.

Yeah of course not the best in Thailand, but definitely the best in Pattaya.

It's not a case of lightening up mate lol, it's just another inane comment that provides no information other than clearly identifying the poster as a cocky twat lol.

If Terminal 21 in Pattaya is what you regard as the best foodcourt in Thailand,  you really do need to get out more and relinquish your amateur food critic comments LOL.

It may well be the best in ones opinion and the worst in anothers opinion. Both of them are correct they are just different.

Is this foodcourt that bad, if so I'm really disappointed.  I spend 4 months a year at the Avenue Residence and left the 30th November,  just as it was nearing completion.

I'm back 1st February until 29th March and was hoping to get a few meals to take back to the apartment.

Ah well,  up to the 1st floor and my regular stall.

If you spend months at The Avenue you may perhaps be better off getting to know in detail the new food court in the Avenue shopping centre, just because that's much more convenient to your condo and you could easily take food back home.  There's bound to be a couple of stalls in the Av food court that do food you'd like.

Unfortunately not.

Some of those vendors have moved down into the food court, some of them have moved elsewhere. My favourite has moved to somewhere "between tai and klang, near a school". I wish I could find her again!

They were all moved out the day before the food court opened.
